Alternatively, contact your company Duet administrator who can provide the password as well. Should he/she not be available, please
contact the Helpline for further assistance.

How secure is the Duet application?
The Duet system uses industry standard 128-bit encryption via SSL connection (Secure Link.) This SSL technology secures your information by encrypting it and then using a "key" to decipher it - and the SSL Certificate which ensures this is issued by an authorised source. This makes certain that any data transmitted using Duet is protected and is only accessible to authorised users.

When is the Duet Helpline open?
The Duet Helpline is open between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00.

What happens if the system refers my quotation to Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty?

Who can use Duet?
Any FSA authorised broker, subject to our registration criteria.

What if I want some printed policies? How do I order more copies?
Contact us either on DUET freephone 08450 4665533 or by email at ukcargo@ma.allianz.com.

Can I use Duet for clients based outside the UK?

Are any countries or geographical zones excluded from your standard policy?
There are certain countries that are excluded from the standard policy for a number of reasons e.g. civil unrest, state legislation etc. These vary from time to time and our Underwriting Service Centre will be happy to provide you with the latest information. Please call 0845 4665533.

Is there a minimum premium applicable?
Yes, for single cargo shipments risks the minimum premium is GBP150.00 and for annual policies it is GBP450.00.

What if my client needs cover for goods that are not on the list of goods ("Subject Matter")?
The great majority of standard cargo types are listed under subject matter. For specialist cargoes outside these categories, please contact us either on 0845 4665533 or by email at ukcargo@ma.allianz.com. We will respond within 4 working hours of receipt of your enquiry.

Can I start a quotation and store it for completion later?
Yes, you can save the enquiry as a draft and edit it later.

What if I need help - can I call someone?
Yes, please call us on 0845 466 5533. Alternatively, you may contact us by email at ukcargo@ma.allianz.com

I see I can add an uplift to the value of sendings?
Yes, you may increase an Import/Export sendings uplift to a maximum of 30%

before referral, but this will increase your premium.
Are there minimum levels of sendings? Or minimum premiums?
No, there are no minimum levels of sendings, but the following minimum premiums apply: single cargo shipments risks GBP150.00 and annual policies GBP450.00.

What if I want to put together a package policy for my client covering cargo and non-marine risks?
There is no problem in doing this. Merely complete a cargo quote via Duet and e-mail the remaining non-marine covers to your existing Allianz Cornhill Commercial contact as you would normally do.

What level of sendings should I apply to Buyers Interest Contingency if I want this cover?
You should complete this section with the sendings given to you by the client.
There are no minimum or maximum figures.

Under stock cover, what do you mean by "Is building of standard construction?"
A "building of standard construction" should be designed and suitable for use as a warehouse that is weatherproof i.e. wind and water-tight. It needs to be maintained to a reasonable construction and decorative order (floors, windows, roof lights, insulated etc) and conform to regulations such as electrical under the 1989 Electricity at Work Regulations.
In addition, it must comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 in relation to products being stored.

Does Duet automatically remind me of renewals? When?
Yes, Duet sends out automatic policy reminders 42 days before renewal and will provide renewal quotations in advance.

On what basis will the renewal offer be made?
In general, renewal terms and conditions will be offered on expiring information taking into account the previous years claims experience. You can then review the quotation and if required, you can amend sections of it to reflect any changes in your client's requirements, before obtaining a new quotation immediately online.

Can I amend a policy with an endorsement?
You can make a request, via Duet, to amend the policy. We shall respond to your request within 4 working hours.

What if I can't easily identify the subject matter (type of cargo) from the dropdown menu selection?
Most cargo types are covered in the list. Please select the most applicable option from the dropdown menu and enter the client's actual subject matter in the "Detailed Subject Matter” field. If your client's cargo is not listed, please contact our Helpline for a bespoke quotation.

I am not FSA authorised but think I am exempt - can I still use Duet?
Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty can only transact business with FSA authorised brokers.

Do I have to use this system? Can I not just access your underwriters as before?
The Duet environment is designed to facilitate risks with an estimated premium of up to around GBP 5,000. For such policies it offers distinct advantages including competitive premiums and immediate transactions. Furthermore, because of reduced administration costs, Duet's minimum premiums are GBP 150.00 for single cargo shipments and GBP 450.00 for annual covers which is significantly cheaper than via underwriters. Nonetheless brokers can still contact underwriters as before if there are specific enquiries which they need to discuss.

Can I have a paper copy of the policy wording?
We can supply brokers with printed policies on request but, in order to minimise brokers' postage and administration burden, we have made all our documentation available online. Registered users can therefore email policy documentation to clients directly.

If my client wants to have eCertificates at a later date, is this possible or do I have to sign up for these at inception?
ECertificates are available on request - either at inception or later. Please contact us on ukcargo@ma.allianz.com
